Graduated from Manhattan School of Music
How did you choose your instrument?
My musical studies started with very basic piano, whom I learned from one of my older cousins. During these lessons, she had a very “tough love” kind of style which caused me to cry before, during, and after my lessons getting me relatively nowhere in terms of learning piano. So then in order for me to get away from that I asked my parents if I could do something else, and I literally pointed at the first thing that caught my eye, the Cello.
What piece are you most excited to play this upcoming season?
What I’m most excited about this season is the opening concert. Mahler’s 5th symphony is probably one of the most iconic works written, it’s challenging both technically and musically and to tackle that kind of work on the opening concert would be both very fun and rewarding as well as stressful at times.
