How did you choose your instrument?
I chose the violin when I was five years old. My parents had no musical experience but wanted to give me an opportunity, so they signed me up for music lessons. I was introduced briefly to the violin, cello, and piano as options, and I chose the violin.
What piece are you most excited to play this upcoming season?
I am really looking forward to Rachmaninoff’s Second Piano Concerto with Valentina Lisitsa at Walt Disney Concert Hall.
What have you learned from AYS so far and what are you hoping to gain from AYS in the future?
This is my first year in AYS, and I am really enjoying being surrounded by such talented and motivated colleagues. I have learned a lot from Maestro Treger about section playing and orchestral balance. I am looking forward to playing a variety of repertoire in AYS, in various venues in LA and with notable soloists.
