Manhattan School of Music
How did you choose your instrument?
Honestly, I was that obnoxious little sister who wanted to do everything that my sister did. When my sister started the violin, I got jealous and begged my mom to let me play too. And here I am today!
What piece are you most excited to play this upcoming season?
Mahler 5. The first symphony I fell in love with when I was 9 and now I get to play it for the first time. Childhood dreams coming true!
What have you learned from AYS so far and what are you hoping to gain from AYS in the future?
People are saying that classical music is a dying genre and we should look into different careers or we could literally be starving musicians for life. People often ask, “Is this really worth it?.” When I perform these great classical works with the talented, passionate musicians of AYS and the musically inspiring Alexander Traeger, I have to say its totally worth it. I look forward to another year of music making with a great ensemble!
